About Déise Gaymers

Déise Gaymers is a fortnightly meetup for LGBTQIA+ board game and tabletop roleplaying fans — and our allies — right here in Waterford!

Whether you’re into quick, silly card games, strategic board games, or diving into a Dungeons & Dragons one-shot, you’ll find a seat at the table. It’s a relaxed, drop-in style evening where you can join games already running or start your own, make new friends, and enjoy a safe, inclusive space.

    🕕 Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm (arrive from 5:30pm to settle in)
    📍 Location: Waterford Comics, Newtown Road (by the People’s Park), X91 YA24
    💡 Age: 16+
    💰 Suggested Donation: €5–€7.50 (to help cover venue hire & grow our game library — pay what you can, and if you can’t this time, you’re still welcome!)

🕹 How It Works

  • Arrive between 5:30pm and 6:00pm

  • Sign in at the desk (name only, for safety purposes)

  • Join a game already running or gather a group for something new

  • Play as much or as little as you like — the aim is to have fun and connect

🎲 Games You’ll Find

  • Quick, fast-paced card games (UNO, Exploding Kittens, Unstable Unicorns)

  • Longer board games (30–60 minutes)

  • Beginner-friendly D&D one-shots with pre-made characters (great for new players)

  • BYOG — Bring Your Own Game to share with the group

🥤 Snacks & Drinks

  • Outside food/drink isn’t allowed, except water

  • Waterford Comics sells snacks and has a café serving tea & coffee

  • Café/snack counter open 7:15pm – 7:45pm during the event

♿ Accessibility

  • The main gaming space is wheelchair accessible

  • Please note: the bathroom is upstairs and there is currently no accessible toilet on-site

  • If you have specific access needs, you can contact us ahead of time at info@prideofthedeise.ie so we can support your visit

TTRPG Adventures (Dungeons & Dragons + More)

We're setting the stage for a short, beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons campaign — and our first session will include a chat about what kind of story people would like to play.

Never played D&D before? No problem! We'll help you roll your first character, explain the basics, and make sure everyone has a chance to shine.

Board & Card Games Galore

Not into roleplaying? We’ve got you covered with a wide mix of classic and modern games to suit every mood and group size.
